BIO:

Paul Sasso was born in Canada, where he spent a great portion of his childhood making things and daydreaming. He flunked out of high school because of the daydreaming. After working in the auto industry for 4 years he was able to weasel his way into art school at the University of Windsor in his hometown. He has embarked on many personal adventures including a two-year stint of living off the grid in northern Ontario. In 1978 he moved to the United States to study sculpture and painting at the University of Tennessee. He graduated in 1981 with an MFA and began teaching at Murray State University in Kentucky where he developed the furniture program. He retired from teaching in 2008. His work has been acquired by many important collectors and museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, and Gulf Coast Museum of Art, Largo, FL

Paul and his wife Sandy, a painter, live and work at Sassoville, a compound of their own design and construction, near Almo, Kentucky. They share a love for late Gothic and Early Renaissance art, Italian food, travel, intelligence and the hand made.
